A Mom, an Artist, and a Conduit for a Little Bit of Magic
My Mission Statement
A’Mused: Magic as Meaning, Intention as Art
To me, magic is a language—one that speaks through herbs, symbols, dreams, gestures, deities, and the quiet pulse of knowing beneath it all. It’s not a power reserved for a few, but a form of communication available to anyone willing to listen, to speak back, and to live like it matters.
Everything I create—whether it's a wearable altar, a charm for your daily intention setting ritual, or a sketch drawn from the Other Side of the Sketchbook—is made to help translate that language into something you can hold, wear, return to, and remember. Because sometimes, the most powerful magic is just a well-placed reminder:
of what you’re choosing,
of why you’re here,
and that you do get to choose.
I don't pretend to have answers, only offerings. What I make is inspired by the needs I’ve had on my own path—needs I suspect others might recognize too. I believe we’re all navigating this wide, weird, wondrous world through our own unique blend of belief, background, and guidance.
And yet, in that diversity, there’s a kind of shared unity. A shared thread of intention and attention. A sacred chaos of connection—across cultures, pantheons, dimensions, and lifetimes.
This isn’t a religion. This isn’t a right way. This is a melting pot, a cauldron - if you will. A space where your practices, your gods, your knowing, and your questions are welcome.
You're the magic here.
I just make tools to help you remember.
So, hi.
I'm Kara. Mother of three, lifelong artist, and the heart behind A’Mused — a space where the muses and the amused skip and hold hands.
I was born and raised in Texas, went to art school there too, and only recently moved to the Chicago area in 2023. That move cracked something open in me — especially around how I define community. I used to think it meant proximity. Now I know it's more about resonance. It's about finding your people — the ones who get the weird, witchy, wonderful parts of you.
I've been creating art in one form or another my whole life, but A’Mused was born from the moment I realized that the act of making — whether it’s a drawing, a charm, or a custom talisman — is a form of rebellion. It’s screaming into the void, but with glitter. Its intention, made tangible.
I create wearable altars, channeled spirit portraits, and charm-based apothecary sets designed to help you connect with your guides, your intentions, and your own divine messiness. Whether you're invoking a demon, too busy to brew a simmer pot so you just don your recipe charm bracelet instead, or you’re getting to know your ancestors through a channeled sketch — I want you to feel held, seen, and a little more magical .
This work is an extension of how I parent. I show my kids that creativity and care aren’t luxuries — they’re lifelines. They’ve watched me build a business rooted in intuition and connection. They see me set intentions, create art, and enjoy myself and my work. They’re growing up knowing that their mother is her own person — one who didn’t disappear inside motherhood, but was transformed by it.
So whether you're a parent with a toddler on your hip, a practitioner seeking tools that feel more connected, or just someone who needs a reminder that magic is real and accessible — welcome.
